My favorite fly for trout, besides a mouse, is a damsel fly. A damsel is a real meal, and delicious dinner, easy to see and key in on. Your local craft store has the best materials, bank on it!
This trout is hand cast in yellow bronze, then set into sculptured pewter that overlays a base of cartridge brass and nickel. A copper bezel is soldered into the pewter, then a piece of turquoise from the Sleeping Beauty Mine (now closed), Globe, Arizona, is set into the bezel. Each buckle is unique- no two are identical. This is an elegant marriage of 5 recycled USA metals, and a USA gemstone. Made with hand tools, signed by me, 2.25 inches diameter.
